I told my professors so they were very lenient with me. It was
directly after gaining the cahonies to leave my ex husband. Who was a
very abusive officer. It was sept. 06 and it was very hard time.
I had a few colleagues, that cheered me on incessantly, and would
encourage me constantly, that kept me going. Later in Nov. a
restraining order put my husband out of the marital home, and put me
into it. He was stalking me badly, and an incident he chased my car
for over forty miles, ended up badly with a restraining order. I
stayed in house for a few months, but it was a protected marital
asset, in that he bought the house in his fathers name- which I did
not know. So, I had no place to go again in a yr. And, lived out of
car briefly again in aug & sept. of 07. I had stayed periodically at
friends....this time. Was not as bad as 06 because in 06 I had to
find a job really fast, just to eat. And doing so while in school,
living out of car- was like a joke. a bad joke on me.
Then i found out my credit was pretty good because I rarely used it.
My husband never allowed for me to see or be involved in finances. He
worked, I was at home mom for a long time. I never even held a bank
account and was 30 yrs of age! stupid me!
Anyhow, I ended up, even though I was not capable to really support
it, bought a house. The house i live in now. I still can't afford it,
so I am putting it up for sale to avoid foreclosure- but I finally
have a bank account....lol
Being a householder, head of house hold was a huge transition for me.
Apts around here cost as much as a mortgage, and credit approval was
harder for the apt. oddly. So i bought the house despite my inability
to pay, because atleast it was an asset.
We all have to do what we have to do. I would love to keep it, but I
cannot afford it. But i have been able to keep electric on, heat, and
pay my minor bills. So, if I put it up for sale, I can stop
forclosure, pay bank back thier money and basically I lived here for
a year with only monthly costs. A terrible thing to do to my credit.
But desparate times call for desparate measures.
It was more logical because no one was oging to throw me out of here,
except by foreclosure, and that takes a long time. Now, with an apt,
they could have had me evicted relatively fast for not paying rent.
So it was a needs based move.
So hopefully I can sell it, pay back bank, make enough to pay for
taxes, and walk. then i will find a cheap ass apt. or whatever- but
by then, I will have begun my career. And, be able to afford some
kind of payment.
So. Thats that.
