The Great Goddess Durga is the slayer of the demon Durgama.

Durgama is the name of the demon that takes away the Word of God
from the fields of earth. The Kshetra lies in disorder. The Marriage
of Heaven and Earth suffers desecration. The faithful are persecuted
and are forced to live in desolation. The gods in heaven are
deprived of their food. There is immense pain in heaven and on
earth.

Men are reduced to living like animals. The gods are rendered
powerless.

Dharma is held captive by the Demon Durgama. It is the boon that the
demon obtains from Brahma, the Creator.

The Goddess Durga sheds tears out of her Love and Compassion for the
peoples of the earth and for the gods in heaven. And She, Goddess
Durga, the Mother of the Word, takes up the Sword to kill the demon
Durgama. So that the Word and the Way may be established on Earth.

The Earth is the Karma Bhoomi. The heavens are sustained by the
earth. The earth is sustained by the heavens. So sustaining each
other, they prosper.

In times past, when the Word was stolen by the demon Durgama, the
Great Goddess Durga brought back to earth the Word and the Way that
was held captive by the Demon.

The Word is held captive again today. Men live like animals. The
gods are deprived of their food. There is disorder and pain. The
Rhythm of the Field is broken. The Rhyme has become discordant.
Atlantis and Dwarka lie submerged.

O Mother, i pray to Thee that this Shivyoga group may be Your
Invocation. To Manifest Thy Leela of the Slaying of Durgama. In the
Eternal Recurrence of Time.

O Mother, let me not be fooled that i am not this body before its
Consecration has been done. How can i not be this body, O Gracious
Mother? Let this body be Sacrificed in Love at the Altar. Preserve
this body for Thy Leela O Mother so that the sacrifice may be my
penitence for all my sins.

Preserve me O MOther as the Slave of Shiva. Preserve me O Great
Goddess Durga to be Thy Sword in the Leela.
